perfectly fit to do

Job searching. Sharing weaknesses with my husband + friends. Questioning motives. Dreaming of the future. Making plans, forgetting to submit them to God, then finally submitting them to God.

So many opportunities to err on the side of ease and comfort.

But God is making me into a better disciple day by day…

“Our Lord’s making of a disciple is supernatural. He does not build on any natural capacity of ours at all. God does not ask us to do the things that are naturally easy for us— He only asks us to do the things that we are perfectly fit to do through His grace, and that is where the cross we must bear will always come.” [Oswald Chambers, from here]

Reminded once again of the knowledge that God has not called me to a life that is naturally easy.

  1. I find solace in these words, especially as we’re in a period of transition. It would be easy for me to work with computers, but God calls for me to work with people. It would be easy for me to stay put, but God calls me to move.
