Philippians 4:8

In honor of Grandma’s love of the NLT translation:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. [Philippians 4:8]

This verse is has been on my mind a lot lately. More on that later…

  1. This was one of my least favorite verses as a child – anytime my dad would find us watching something on TV he wasn’t fond of he would stand in front of the TV and say this verse(and it’s not like we were watching anything bad – he just always walked in on those parts of Family Ties or similar shows where the kid is doing something they shouldn’t but hasn’t gotten to the learning the lesson part of the show yet).

However, now as a parent, I fear I will do the same thing….

  2. Why is this type of thinking such a lofty goal? It seems like >>continually>> maintaining this sort of thought process is quite a feat; maybe even grueling. I’m believing it is actually a blessing and a gateway.

Want to hear your “more on this later” (!)
