Further signs of my growing up: I’ve become enamored with pretty cake stands. I have one from my mom already, so I’m not even on the market… but look at these!
I was never that into interior design, until I started working with images of beautiful rooms every day. Now I’ll never be able to let myself have an ugly home. So, as a tribute to my summer spent at House Beautiful and Country Living, here are some of my favorite rooms:
A mostly white kitchen with touches of yellow, aqua and gray — my favorite color combination lately:
I love huge photographs above beds and all the light blues and greens used here:
“Casual Style in a Long Island Home”
Interesting light fixtures are my favorite:
“Is John Willey’s Bright Design Right For You?”
A coat rack in a bathroom is really a clever idea:

Great pattern in the stained glass repeated on the floor… and creeping up onto the wall? Awesome:

Squint is this little shop in East London that opened within the last few years. For them, it’s all about a “fusion of period furniture and fabrics.” These combinations create some awesome pieces used from new, used, contemporary and vintage fabrics. I can’t see these working in too many instances, but in the right room, it would be great. Some of my favorites include:
Head to their site for more examples. First read about on Interior Design’s Design Green Blog.

Isn’t that great? Now I must have a two story home for the very purpose of having stairs like these. I also must start collecting books… See photos of the whole apartment here.
